One of the first considerations when planning a memorial is knowing what design styles are permitted in the area the memorial is to be placed. Many council cemeteries are divided into areas that have strict design and dimension limits, but there is a trend towards mixed design areas that are more flexible.

Memorials are often collected from our factory to be installed in family cemeteries and urupas across the North Island. We also organise packing and shipping to the Pacific Islands.

How much will it cost?

This can vary greatly depending on the style of memorial.

Upright headstone prices will start at around $1,400 for one of our lower budget designs, we have low cost options available for families who want to mark a grave site with a tribute -

Most of the memorials we do fall between the $3,000 to $6,000 range and this will provide for a good quality memorial and base made from granite. In most cases this includes installation and cemetery permit fees.

Basic plaques for cremation areas can range from $400 - $1200 depending on option added.

We can also produce custom designed headstones that can reflect an individual character such as sculptured granite designs and accessories.

Visiting the cemetery will also give a good idea of the variety of design options available. Payment Options

At Banks Memorials we understand that it is sometimes not easy to come up with the full cost of a memorial at the time of purchase so we have several plans available to suit your situation.

A LayBy scheme is a popular method if there is some time until an unveiling. An initial deposit is put down and regular payments calculated to ensure the required amount is paid by the time the memorial is finished.
